6 Week Dressmaking Class
The dress making class is ideal for someone who has intermediate sewing skills, you should be comfortable using a sewing machine and have made simple projects such as cushions or bags.
Even better if you've join The Edinburgh Sewcial Club for beginners sewing and intermediate sewing workshops.
Key skills learned throughout this course;
Measuring, adjusting and pattern cutting
Fabric Properties & grain lines
Seams, garment construction, pleats, darts, sleeves and pockets (depending on pattern and style chosen)
Fitting a concealed zip
Hemming and finishing
Class sizes are kept small to ensure everyone has plenty of attention and guidance and there may be a small amount of homework required each week.
By the end of this course you will have a fabulous made to measure dress, skirt, trousers, jacket etc. and will be able to follow a dress making pattern to make many more clothes for yourself.
