Got a sewing project sitting unfinished at home? Stuck on a tricky bit of a pattern? Or simply don't have the space, equipment, or confidence to tackle your next project on your own?
Our Sewing Drop-In Sessions at The Edinburgh Sewcial Club are designed for people who already have some machine sewing experience and would like a little extra help, guidance, and access to a fully equipped sewing studio.
Bring along your own project and work at your own pace, with an experienced sewing tutor on hand to offer advice and practical support when you need it. Whether you're struggling with a difficult section of a pattern, need help understanding the next step, want advice on fabric or construction, or simply need a second pair of eyes, we're here to help you get unstuck.
Perhaps you've got a dress you've been meaning to finish, a pattern you've been nervous to tackle, some alterations to do, or a creative project you've been dreaming about but don't have the room or equipment to work on at home. Our drop-in sessions give you the freedom to bring your own ideas and make them happen.They're also ideal if you can't commit to a six-week course or simply prefer learning in a more flexible way.
There's no set project and no requirement to follow a particular pattern — this is your time to work on the things you want to make.You'll have access to our sewing machines, studio space, and equipment, as well as friendly, knowledgeable tuition whenever you need it.
You can work independently while knowing that expert help is close by.It's a relaxed and welcoming way to develop your sewing skills, build confidence, and finally get those projects finished!Already know your way around a sewing machine? Bring your project, your ideas, and your questions — we'll provide the space, equipment, and expert help to get you sewing.
Please note - despite being 'drop-in sessions', there are limited spaces; therefore, booking is essential even if it's on the day.
