Spend 3 full days (consecutive weeks) in the sewing studio and create any garment you wish in this 3 week dressmaking course.

You will be guided step by step by an amazing, calm, patient and very knowledgeable dressmaking tutor!

£165 pp - Monday 25th March to 9th April 1pm to 6pm

The dress making class is ideal for someone who has intermediate sewing skills, you should be comfortable using a sewing machine and have made simple projects such as cushions or bags - or have attended an Introduction to Sewing class with The Edinburgh Sewcial Club.

Feel like you need a wee sewing refresher before joining a dressmaking class? Why not book onto either our beginner's sewing class or the intermediate sewing workshop.

Key skills learned throughout this course:

​

Measuring, adjusting and pattern cutting
Fabric Properties & grain lines
Seams, garment construction, pleats, darts, sleeves and pockets (depending on pattern and style chosen)
Fitting a concealed zip
Hemming and finishing

Class sizes are kept small (Max 6 folks) to ensure everyone has plenty of attention and guidance and there may be a small amount of homework required each week. 

​

By the end of this course you will have a fabulous made to measure dress, skirt, trousers, jacket etc. and will be able to follow a dress making pattern to make many more clothes for yourself.
