3 Week (Daytime) Dressmaking Classes

Garment making Course
Spend three inspiring full-day sessions in the sewing studio across three consecutive weeks and create your own handmade garment in this practical and supportive intermediate dressmaking course with The Edinburgh Sewcial Club.
Perfect for sewists looking to progress their machine sewing and garment making skills, this hands-on sewing course will guide you step-by-step through the process of creating beautifully fitted handmade clothing.
Working alongside an experienced, calm and highly knowledgeable dressmaking tutor, you’ll develop confidence in garment construction techniques while learning professional sewing methods in a relaxed and creative studio environment.
£165 per person
This intermediate sewing and dressmaking class is ideal for students who are already comfortable using a sewing machine and have completed beginner sewing projects such as cushion covers, tote bags or simple accessories. Previous attendance at an Introduction to Sewing workshop or intermediate sewing class with The Edinburgh Sewcial Club is highly recommended.
Need a refresher before starting garment making? Our beginner sewing classes and intermediate sewing workshops are the perfect way to build confidence before progressing onto dressmaking and clothes-making courses.

With small class sizes (maximum six students), every participant receives personalised guidance, individual tutor support and plenty of one-to-one tuition throughout the course. Some light sewing homework may be recommended between sessions to help complete your garment.
By the end of the course, you’ll have created a made-to-measure handmade garment such as a dress, skirt, trousers, jacket or top, while gaining the confidence to follow commercial sewing patterns and continue making your own clothes independently.
Please note: the full three-week course is required to complete your garment. Depending on the complexity of your chosen pattern and fabric, some additional sewing preparation or finishing work at home may be needed between classes.
