This practical sewing course will help you become familiar with the basics of machine sewing and help you build your confidence using a domestic sewing machine. Make a cushion cover with your new sewing skills.

 

During the class you will learn the following:

 

Threading Sewing Machine and winding & inserting bobbin in machine.

Confident driving skills

Learning about fabric qualities and various machine stitches

 

Utilising the skills learned you will make a small project - envelope cushion cover.

 

Once you have completed the beginners class you will be able to confidently move on to a dressmaking class to progress further your new found skills.​

 

Machines are provided but feel free to bring along your own machine to learn all it's quirks, class sizes kept small to ensure everyone can learn at their own pace and receive ample 1 to 1 tutor time.

After this workshop graduate onto our intermediate sewing workshop and make a zipped and lined wash-bag with The Edinburgh Sewcial Club and really elevate your machine sewing skills before joining us for a longer course garment making!
